@kelvinfoulkes To be clear, this is a receiver only, it does not have or require a MMSI number.

It receives ais signals from other vessels in range and will then broadcast that information to the internet, or locally to a usb device such as a plotter or laptop

So if it places the vessel on a map via the Internet, does that mean it has been registered with a MSSI number and if that is the case, has it been deregistered/cleared?

@kelvinfoulkes it’s primarily a base station to receive ais signals and broadcast to websites such as MarineTraffic via the internet (Ethernet),

But will also receive ais signals and send via usb to a pc onboard or with a usb to serial adapter to a chartplotter on a NMEA 0183 port.

So its a AIS receiver when no Internet coverage is available... Right?
