Vintage Finnigans of Bond Street Handbag
Elegant Vintage Finnigans of Bond Street genuine Art Deco style Leather handbag. From the 1950’s or early 1960’s. A single leather handle the bag is opened by a clasp movement of the right hand clasp and has great closure even after 70 years . The interior is lined in red leather with several compartments. One deep zipped pocket, a small pocket with pen holder, one clasped pocket with attached small pocket. In very good original vintage condition , some small wear and imperfections due to use and age but no major flaws in either the black or red leather.
Size: 30cm wide, 25cm high, 6cm base, 15cm drop on handle.
The House of Finnigans was established in 1830 by an Irishman named Brian Finnigan who was descended from Brian Boru. It was the maker of a wide range of luxury goods some very innovative for the time and was famous for its leather bags. It closed its Bond Street store in 1986.
So , this is a once off genuine vintage high end leather handbag made by one of the most famous Bond Street stores. Postage extra.
