Exceptional Akai Professional S3000XL in genuinely mint, virtually as-new condition.

This machine has seen very little use and has spent its life rack-mounted and protected in a smoke-free studio. The front panel, controls and overall condition are exceptional for its age.

It comes complete with its original box and Styrofoam packaging, manuals, original disks, CD and mains lead, with the accessories still beautifully preserved in the original packaging.

A very difficult S3000XL to find in this condition and with this level of originality and completeness.

Akai S3000XL – Serviced, Tested & Upgradable

Akai S3000XL professional rackmount stereo digital sampler in excellent original condition, currently undergoing a comprehensive check-over and service prior to sale.

The sampler has been put through its internal hardware diagnostics and full memory test. It correctly detects its installed 16 Mword sample memory, with the complete memory diagnostic finishing with “TEST OK”, confirming that the installed RAM is functioning correctly.

The LCD is fully operational. As part of the service, the ageing original electroluminescent backlight is being replaced with a brand-new EL backlight foil, giving the display fresh, bright illumination while retaining the original character and appearance of the machine.

The controls, display, operating system, sampling and editing functions will all be checked as part of the service, and the machine will be internally and externally cleaned and fully function-tested before sale.

The S3000XL is one of Akai’s classic professional 1990s hardware samplers, offering 16-bit stereo sampling, extensive sample and program editing, digital filtering, multiple individual outputs, MIDI and SCSI connectivity. It remains a hugely capable hardware sampler and an increasingly desirable piece of classic studio equipment.

Optional upgrades are also available for the S3000XL. Should the new owner wish to expand the machine further, I can source and professionally install compatible additional memory, filter, effects or other available expansion options as part of the service. Any requested upgrades would be discussed and priced beforehand, installed correctly and fully tested before the machine leaves the workshop.

If a buyer wishes to secure the sampler and have specific upgrades carried out, a deposit would be required to reserve the machine before additional parts are sourced.
