AKG-K701 Studio Reference Headphones

Bought 130 new two years ago. Unfortunately one driver has stopped working, warranty was finished by a week! it could have been fixed but I would have to send back to manufacturer and the cost wouldn't justify it. These headphones are perfect for anyone who needs parts or the frames for repairing other 701s.

@G Z I know of this! Unfortunately I did try this and the sound still wouldn't come through on the effected side, most likely a broken driver! Like I said the cost of sending it out for repairing and paying for the shipping wouldn't be worth it, I bought a new pair instead

Hi. For your and anyone interested info: this model and models like K240 etc have signal going through rods of headband from the side where cable comes. It often breaks the connection. You need to remove that silver grill by counterclock movement and underneath there will be cables to solder back to the rods. Drivers are probably fine. Removing grill is bit tricky to not leave marks.
