Thank you for your question.
This polytunnel does not require the trench method, however it is recommended to secure it properly for stability, especially in windy conditions.
The cover has extended edges which can be buried in soil (trench method) for extra strength and heat retention, but many customers also install it successfully by anchoring the frame with the included ground stakes or by adding extra weights, pegs or storm straps.
Installing on a level soil base or timber frame also helps improve stability.
