Hi Dec. I'll be completely honest here. Tt did cool the room (bedroom) but I put it in an open plan area and it was no good for that. I also was not too gone on noise from it. It does not require water, but you need to vent the hot air out the window. There is an attachment for it, but is only for sliding / sash type of windows, so I made an adaptation usining some plastic and duct tape to seal it. There are adapters for windows that open out, that can be gotten on Amazon too. think they are around €15. Other than that all good. Could do both for €260
