Victorian Burr Walnut Davenport Writing Desk.
Superb Victorian burr walnut Davenport. Dating to circa 1860. Exceptional figured burr walnut veneers, fine stringing and decorative floral marquetry.
Sloping hinged writing surface with original leather inset opening to reveal a fitted stationery compartment. Raised rear section with pierced brass gallery and further floral marquetry decoration.
Four graduated drawers with turned wooden knobs and key escutcheons. Supported on turned columns with carved scroll supports and distinctive platform feet.
Very good original condition, with a small area of historic discolouration/variation to the burr walnut veneer on the upper section consistent with age. (See photo) No significant damage or lifting noted.
