Mid-Century Lacquer, Glass and Chrome Desk by Pierre Cardin, 1970s
This sculptural desk by Pierre Cardin dates to the late 1960s or early 1970s and reflects the designer’s futuristic aesthetic. The cream lacquered body is framed in polished chrome, topped with a thick clear glass surface that appears to float. Cardin’s furniture designs from this period are rare, often produced in small numbers, and mirror the bold, architectural style he brought to fashion. Ideal in a modern office, studio, or as a statement console, it’s both functional and collectible — a striking piece of 20th-century design. The chrome parts have been polished but shows sign of marks and scratches. There is two chips taken out on the right side as highlighted in the photos.
Dimensions:
Width: 138 cm.
Depth: 61 cm.
Height: 73 cm.
Condition:
There is two chips on the right hand side on the lower bit of the desk. The chrome is a bit tarnished on a few areas, as highlighted in the photos.
