A george iii style mahogany, burr walnut and satinwood crossbanded breakfront library bookcase

Late 20th century, in the 18th century manner

The moulded and stepped dentil cornice above a breakfront upper section fitted with four glazed panel doors, each within a burr veneered surround and satinwood crossbanded border, enclosing adjustable shelves; the lower section with a moulded edge above two banks of four short drawers flanking a pair of figured burr panel cupboard doors, the whole raised on a plinth base; with brass ring-drop and rosette handles throughout.

Approximately 226cm high, 183cm wide, 46cm deep

The form derives from the great english library bookcases of the third quarter of the eighteenth century, of the type illustrated in chippendale's gentleman and cabinet-maker
