No to connect the MultiPlus II to a GX you just need a RJ45 CAT5 or better (CAT6 or CAT7) network cable.
This cable is designed to connect certain third-party CAN-bus BMS lithium batteries (not Victron devices) to a GX device’s VE.Can or BMS-Can port.
