Sensing Thermostat (Raychem RAYSTAT-CONTROL-10)

The nVent RAYCHEM RAYSTAT-CONTROL-10 is a user-friendly surface sensing thermostat designed for measurement and control of heating cables. It features a 25 A control relay, which can be configured as volt-free, and a 2 A volt-free SPDT alarm relay. Parameter and alarm conditions are displayed on a digital screen, and settings can be programmed easily, even without a power supply. The unit comes with a 3-meter long silicone-extension Pt100 sensor, allowing for flexible placement of the electronics. Two M25 entries facilitate the connection of power and heating cables. Mounting can be done on pipes using the SB-100 or SB-101 support brackets.

The sensor can be extended with a 3-wire shielded cable up to a maximum of 20 Ω per conductor (max. 150 m with a 3 x 1.5 mm² cable). For sensing in hazardous areas (zone 1 or zone 2), the MONI-PT100-EXE is required. The sensor cable should be shielded if laid in cable ducts or near high-voltage carrying cables. The shield of the extension cable must be grounded at the controller end only.

Connection Details
Normal Operation: Wiring diagram shows connections for power supply (L1, N), a 30 mA circuit breaker, the RAYSTAT-CONTROL/ECO-10 unit (labeled 5LL8NN, W/B RR, ABC), alarm relay (2 A max.), heating cable, and Pt 100 sensor.

Voltage Free Operation: This mode is achieved by removing links W1 and W2. The diagram illustrates connections for L1, L2, L3, N, a 30 mA circuit breaker, the RAYSTAT-CONTROL/ECO-10 unit, a 2A relay, heating cable, and Pt 100 sensor.

Notes on Wiring:

Electrical protection by circuit-breaker may be needed for local circumstances, standards, and regulations.
Depending on the application, one- or three-pole circuit-breakers or contactors may be used.
