Common-mode choke PL, 1 kW SSB/CW 1.8-30 MHz
If an antenna generates interfering common-mode currents (BCI/TVI) on the feed line, these can be effectively attenuated or even suppressed by retrofitting a common-mode choke into the feed line.
The round, cylindrical housing is completely weatherproof and has two SO-239 connectors for the input and output of a 50-ohm coaxial cable. The choke should be inserted immediately before the antenna feed point.
The common-mode choke operates unbalanced and has proven particularly effective for high-impedance antennas such as windom and end-fed longwire antennas, as well as for balunless verticals, ground planes, or between a transceiver and antenna tuner for balanced ladder line antennas.
