Original vintage heavy cast iron fireplace fret (fire front/ash pan cover) featuring a classic spiked "castle" top rail.
This is a beautiful example of mid-century Irish fireplace salvage, finished in a highly collectible iridescent carnival lustre enamel (lustre ware).
The vitrified finish catches the light beautifully, reflecting deep metallic shades of copper, gold, bronze, and purple hues.
Size: Measures approximately 17 inches total length at the back. It is designed to sit cleanly across and fit a standard 16-inch fireplace opening.
Condition: Excellent vintage structural condition with no cracks. Solid heavy cast iron with a lovely natural patina.
