@Takaman: Sorry, I didn't get a chance but after checking it there and doesn't work. It will make the sound of connecting a usb and HDD light comes on but doesnt appear to redirect.

Thanks, my external hard drive is powered through the USB connector cable. I have two pc's, two keyboards, two mouse pads and one monitor which I have to manually keep switching across to. I was hoping something like this switch would help streamline the clutter.

@Takaman not sure as purpose is for keyboards mice but in theory it should redirect the USB and if power supplied to hdd.
