Lime based plaster from stone walls for infill

Lime based plaster from stone walls for infill Lime based plaster from stone walls for infill Other Building Materials

Useful for infill for gardens etc.

Lime based plaster removed from the insides of the external stone walls and ceilings, from a renovation job of a late Georgian or early Victorian house.

Plus lime based mortar from an external stone wall, bagged separately.

Plaster was in good condition, dry and clean. Took extra care to make sure there are no contaminants (nails, wood, wallpaper etc.) before bagging up.

There are probably about two dozen or so bags. Assorted sizes from fine to bigger chunks. No idea of the total weight but please see pictures for reference.

Based in Cork city. Collection preferred but I can probably deliver within a reasonable distance of Cork city.

Any questions just ask.

Thanks Daragh, yes I think you’re probably right. We need to do some pointing and restoration of some back walls but maybe this probably won’t suit. Thanks for the reply and very good of you to offer it there. All the best

Hi @amandatou good question. Based on reading here probably more viable as an aggregate. I've done vinegar tests before on some of it and I get a vigorous fizz.

Based on what I'm reading here that's apparently a sign that it is less suitable for putty because it's mostly converted into calcium carbonate.

I'm no expert mind you.

Would it be possible to slake it down to a putty or would it only be good as an aggregate? Thanks
