Large Vintage Chesneau Leather Satchel Briefcase

Rare, premium dark blue Chesneau satchel briefcase in flawless, like-new condition. Handcrafted in Ireland from top-quality soft leather approximately 35 years ago, used only a few times, and carefully stored since. Generous size (42 x 30 x 8 inches), featuring a central handle and a detachable shoulder strap. The handle, shoulder strap, buckle straps and trim are in contrasting dark green. The interior contains two main compartments, including three handy organizer pouches. It also has a large zipped pocket on the back. It secures with two side buckles and a central gold-coloured twist clasp. Perfect for a professional looking for distinctive heritage style or a vintage collector.
The Chesneau brand was founded in Kilkenny in 1977 by French craftsman Edmond Chesneau who brought classic French saddlery skills to Ireland.  The design heavily reflects Edmond Chesneau’s early training at Hermès. Famous for heirloom-quality, thick pebbled leathers, pig-suede linings and solid brass hardware. This item probably dates from the early era of the company, late 1980s or early 1990s.
