WWII British RAF Airborne Night Use Field Binoculars
Authentic, historically significant pair of World War II British Military Issue "Night Use" Field Binoculars, manufactured by Henry Hughes & Son (Husun). These short-barreled Galilean binoculars feature the rare Air Ministry stores reference vocabulary markings stamped directly onto the brass bridge: "954" and "6E/338".
The "6E" prefix confirms these were officially designated for Airborne Navigation and Optical Equipment. This specific model was widely distributed to Royal Air Force (RAF) crews for low-light night navigation and spotting, as well as elite units like the British Airborne Division (Paratroopers) and the SAS.
Much of the original black factory lacquer has worn away over the decades, exposing a rich brass patina underneath. They are in perfect working order with clear optics.
