For sale are two vintage prize medals issued by the Women's Own magazine. These medals were issued to prizewinners of local groups throughout Britain such as the Women's Institute regional branches, local horticulture, cookery and handicraft groups. Winners' categories included cookery, handicrafts and flower'fruit/vegetable growing.

Winners could have their medals engraved with a personalised inscription, such as the Handicrafts Medal "WON BY H. TURNBULL 1960"

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 1 1/2" across (38mm).
Material(s): copper.
Finish: dark bronzed finish.
Fitting: bale with suspension ring.
Imprint: none. Handicrafts medal engraved with winner's details.
Approximate age: these type of medals issued from the late 1950's to the early 1960's (c.1959-c.1963).

CONDITION:
Excellent condition. No damage.
