For sale are three membership enamel badges of the WOMEN'S LEAGUE OF HEALTH & BEAUTY (WLHB) of Britain and Ireland. The WLHB was established in 1930 and renamed as The Fitness League in 1999. The image on these badges is of dancer and gymnast Peggy St. Lo, along with the WHLB's motto MOVEMENT IS LIFE. The Peggy St. Lo emblem continues to be used by The Fitness League.
The WHLB was the first mass keep-fit organisation established specifically for women from all levels of society through low membership costs and it also sought to educate for better women's health with their catchphrase "Fitness for all, regardless of age or status". The 1930s were the golden age of Fitness Culture and there were many other fitness organisations founded then.
