For sale is a membership badge of the WESTLAND RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION. The association was established in 1981 and is an active social club open to all retired employees in receipt of a Westland Group Pension or has served a minimum of five years with any of the Westland group of companies.

Westland Aircraft Ltd was established in 1935 and after WW2, concentrated on the design and manufacture of helicopters of which many types were supplied to the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and other defence forces worldwide. As a result of a major reorganisation within the British aerospace industry, in 1960 Westland Aircraft were merged along with Saunders-Roe, Fairey Aviation and the Bristol Aeroplane Company to form Westland Helicopters. Since 1994 Westland has been a fully owned subsidiary of GNK plc and in 2001 merged with the Augusta helicopter division of Italy’s Finmeccanica S.p.A..

Material(s): diecast metal alloy with 3 enamels.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: pin & butterfly clutch.
Imprint: MADE IN ENLAND MW (Manhattan Windsor Ltd of Birmingham, established 1948 and closed in 2000).
Approximate age: 1980's to 1990's.

CONDITION:
Very goodcondition. No damage. Pin in working order.
