For sale is a blood donor badge issued by the Western Province Blood Transfusion Service (WPBTS).
The WPBTS was originally established at Cape Peninsula (South Africa) in 1938 and during WW2 expanded it services throughout the province. In 1949 they changed their name to the WPBTS or WPBD in Afrikaans. In 2019 the WPBTS changed their name again to the Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS).
The WPBTS motto "Humanitans Causa" was previously "For Humanity's Sake".

Size: about 11/16" x 29/32"(18mm x 23mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 2 vitreous enamels.
Finish: tin plated.
Fitting: pin.
Imprint: 1 DONATION / 1 SKENKING McCALLUM BOX 1016 CAPE TOWN
Approximate age: late 1950's to early 1960's.

Excellent condition. No damage. Pin in working order.
