Waterford Crystal Pint Tankard, Rare Vintage {20 floz, 568 ml} For Beamish & Crawford' 1966 'Celebration Ale' (similar to iconic Guinness glass)
I have a small number of Celebration Ale glasses for sale individually. Each glass was manufactured by Waterford Crystal in 1966.
Celebration ale was incredibly popular at release. Brewed by Beamish & Crawford it was twice the strength of other ale at the time and was made to commemorate 50 years since the Easter Rising.
It had a short lived run and has now gone down in Irish drinking folklore as an ale that would blow the socks off you given the alcohol volume.
The glasses are in great condition given their age. Each glass is unique as handmade by Waterford Crystal and all that comes with the manufacturing: The logos have some blemishes and fade but given their age and scarcity to be expected.
They are like the more famous Guinness tankards, but much heavier and sturdier and don’t feel as fragile as the Guinness ones yet they are identical in shape. I feel maybe Beamish & Crawford opted for a more toughened choice of glass for manufacturing. If you prefer your glasses to be even more unique and rare this is for you. Also uniquely Irish ☘️
A rare bit of Irish history in a glass. Once these are gone they are gone.
Listing price is for per glass! Would make a great addition to any home for use or ornament. And really is the perfect Christmas gift as you ain’t going to find them online or on the high street.
