Vintage picture - Souvenir of the Christian Congress Dublin 1932
This framed print is an official souvenir of the 31st International Eucharistic Congress, held in Dublin from June 21–26, 1932.
The 1932 Congress was one of the largest and most important religious and social events in the history of 20th-century Ireland. It was organized in Dublin, among other reasons, to commemorate the 1500th anniversary of St. Patrick's arrival on the island.
The central image depicts a religious scene (the Last Supper or Holy Communion), framed by a richly decorated border reminiscent of traditional Irish style and early Christian illuminations (Celtic patterns, interwoven floral motifs, and Eucharistic symbols).
Beautifully framed, with an additional commemorative collector's label (so-called Cinderella stamp) on the back issued on the occasion of the 31st International Eucharistic Congress, which took place in Dublin in 1932, and two original, official Congress postage stamps with a face value of 2 pence in Pearl-Green.
