Casserole dish or lidded serving dish in Denby Arabesque.
Arabesque has not been produced by Denby Pottery for many years and items such as these have now become very difficult to obtain in such excellent condition.

Originally, Arabesque started as a small set of giftware designed by Gill Pemberton. A trip to Russia with her husband in 1962 inspired the idea for the red and golden hand-painted decoration, which she developed further.
This is a good sized lidded oven dish, casserole dish, tagine or tureen. It is the perfect size for two people.. or maybe I make big stews!
The shape is wonderful!
Size wise, I think this is a 3 pint casserole dish.
There are two small handles on the sides and the lid has a hole in to let steam out.
It is a very heavy piece.
It is stamped on the base with the Denby mark.
It measures approx 21.5 cms diameter excluding handles.
It is in good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks, and is ready to use.
A superb piece of Mid Century dining ware to grace your home.
Could be used for salads or side dishes too. Would look fun in a rustic farmhouse or indeed contemporary kitchen!
