Vintage Marigold Glass Bowl
50 for the two, 30 separately! Vintage Marigold Glass Floragold Ruffle Bowl Jeannette Glass Co 1950's Gold Iridescent Carnival Glass made in the USA Salad Serving Dish
Sometimes the unlikeliest locations bring the most fabulous finds! That is the case for this beautiful ruffle bowl by Jeannette Glass Company in the Floragold or Louisa pattern. The company produced around 14 patterns of depression era style glass. Though many pieces were not marked, this piece was identified with the “Colors & Patterns of Depression Era Glassware 2nd Edition” of Schiffer Publishing.
Jeannette Glass has its home in Pennsylvania and had a boom near the end of World War II, and by the 1960s, they were the world’s largest electric furnace that melted “heat resistant” glass.
However, by 1983 the company experienced a downturn, and Jeanette Corporation, once known as The Jeannette Glass Co, was in trouble. Citing an economic downturn in the market, the Jeannette Glass closed its doors.
There bowl measures 9-1/2” in diameter, the rim of the bowl is approximately 1-1/4” wide and has a base diameter of 3-7/8”. There is minor scuffing to the inside from use over the years, but nothing major. Other than that it is in exceptional condition - NO chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs – simply stunning!
Whether for the new collector or the connoisseur, this lovely bowl will be a wonderful addition to your vintage glassware collection!!
