Vintage Japanese Black Lacquer Musical Jewelry Box, Working Music Mechanism
Beautiful mid-century vintage Japanese jewelry box finished in a high-gloss black lacquer. The lid features an intricately detailed, hand-painted traditional landscape showcasing Mount Fuji, architectural pagodas, a bridge, and trees. The scene is beautifully accented with an iridescent mother-of-pearl / abalone shell inlay border that catches the light.
The front and sides are also decorated with smaller gold-toned landscape illustrations. It stands on small built-in wooden feet. Inside features a mirror and separate compartments for jewelry/trinkets.
• Origin: Made in Japan (circa 1950s–1960s)

• Condition: Good vintage condition. Light age-related surface wear and minor scuffs to the lacquer finish as expected with age (please see photos for exact condition details).
