Vintage Alfred Taube Hand-Blown Clear Bubble Glass Equestrian / Hunting Pokal Goblet – West Germany (c. 1960s)

DESCRIPTION:
Up for sale is another fantastic find from the renowned Glashütte Alfred Taubebased in Vohenstrauß, West Germany. This mouth-blown, hand-decorated art glass goblet (Pokal) comes from their highly collectible mid-century historical hunting series.

Crafted in clear flint glass, the body is densely and intentionally infused with "seeded" carbon bubbles to authentically capture the rustic texture of medieval European glassware.

DECORATION:
The bowl features a beautiful hand-painted wrap-around folk scene depicting medieval figures in historical garb riding distinct caparisoned, dalmatian-spotted horses among stylized Renaissance floral stems and yellow blossoms. The conical foot base is further elevated with an intricate hand-painted pink and black geometric floral band circling the entire rim.

FORM:
Features a classic high-tapering cylindrical bowl resting on a beautiful hollow-blown baluster node stem and a wide foot. The underside displays the rough, unpolished pontil scar indicative of authentic studio, mouth-blown craftsmanship.

CONDITION:
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, flea bites, or repairs to the rim or base. The hand-painted enamel figures are highly vibrant and crisp with no rubbing or paint loss. Pristine cabinet display condition.
