Vintage Double-Sided Suzhou Silk table Screen in original box

Up for sale is an exquisite example of double-sided Suzhou (Su) silk embroidery, a masterpiece of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. This delicate piece features a lifelike fluffy cat and a praying mantis, hand-stitIched with incredible precision using fine silk threads. 
Because it is double-sided, there are no visible knots or ends on either side of the silk, a technique that takes master embroiderers years to perfect. The screen is mounted in a beautiful, dark rotating wooden frame that allows you to easily view both sides of the artwork. 
This set is complete with its original collector’s box, traditionally covered in patterned silk and featuring a classic toggle fastener, ensuring the piece has been well-protected and remains in excellent vintage condition
