Vintage Chinese Cloisonne and Enamel Collection. Vase, Bowl and Trinket Box

A lovely collection of three vintage Chinese enamelware pieces.

The vase and bowl are wire cloisonné and the trinket box is painted enamel.

The vase (approx. 15cm tall) has white/cream scrollwork and turquoise floral roundels on a deep cobalt-blue ground around the shoulder, a butterfly and scattered blossoms on a rich green ground below, and a scalloped black border with neat bead-work banding in red and white. It has gold-coloured flecks which give it a nice shimmer.

The bowl (approx.. 11.5cm diameter) has a striking black exterior worked with pink and white peony-type blooms and green foliage, and a solid green enamel interior.

The trinket box (approx. 8.5cm square, 5cm high) is hand-painted enamel on copper, decorated all over with peaches, pomegranates, roses and a butterfly on a rich cornflower-blue ground, edged in brass.

All three pieces are original and vintage, dating from the mid 20th century and made for the export and gift trade. Please see condition notes and close-up photos for each piece below, as they form part of the description.

Condition
• Vase: One noticeable and one smaller area of enamel loss on the shoulder, plus light general surface wear and a few small pinhole losses consistent with age. No cracks or structural damage.
• Bowl: Small section of enamel loss along the rim consistent with age and use. No cracks. General light wear commensurate with age.
• Box: Very small area of enamel loss at one corner, on box and lid. Lid and box fit well.
