Vintage Brass Pompei Chalice Bowl Goblet Pair Twin Sand Cast Antique Collectable
Condition: In excellent vintage condition as pictured with only minor shelf ware; no damage or repair. Sold as pre-owned and as pictured.
Vintage Bronze Pompei Chalice Bowl or Footed Cup measuring 3-1/4" OD x 3" tall. Sand Cast, not created on a lathe. Flared footed Base measures 2-1/4"OD. The Bronze Chalice Bowl has a built-up rim, short stem and broad flared foot.
Believed to be from early in the 20th century. There is a Detailed Incised Pattern in individual motif panels on the outer surface of the bowl. We are unsure of the provenance of this item or what is its date of fabrication.
Generally, the Chalice Bowl is in good condition with dark patina and evidence of oxidation in the form of verdigris.
It is unlikely that this would be used as a chalice, more likely to be used as a vide poche*, ring dish, coin dish.


*A vide poche is a small dish, tray, bowl or container kept in a convenient location to empty your pockets.
It has plenty of signs of age and previous usage.
