This nationwide competition ran in the buildup to the 1982 World Cup in Spain, giving away 5 trips for two. The back of the mat displays the exact terms, confirming the competition closing date of May 7th, 1982.To play, punters received the entry voucher with a pint and affixed the stick-on football onto the front of the dripmat to guess where the match ball was hidden in the photo.
Nearly all of these were stuck down, filled out, and thrown into pub boxes 44 years ago. Finding both pieces pristine, flat, and completely unpeeled is a genuine collector's unicorn.
