Vintage 1920s Turmac Turkish Macedonian Advertising Tin

Original vintage Turmac advertising tin produced by the Turkish-Macedonian Tobacco Company.

A particularly attractive old lithographed tin with elaborate red, orange and dark blue Oriental-style decoration. The inside lid retains the original Turmac advertising text describing tobacco selected from Turkey and Macedonia, with company locations including Constantinople, Baialla, Zurich, Brussels and Amsterdam.

Dating appears to be around the 1920s, consistent with documented examples of this particular Turmac tin.

The original old retail price strip marked “Pr. Max. Fr. 6.-” is still attached to the underside.

Clearly well used and showing its age, with scratches, paint loss, edge wear, oxidation and surface corrosion, particularly internally and underneath. The hinge works. Please see all photographs for condition.
