For sale is a rare Retired Staff presentation badge of the THAMES BOARD MILLS of Purfleet in Essex. This badge is made of hallmarked silver (for 1956) and is hand-engraved with the recipient's name on its reverse side. This badge depicts the company's roundel logo.

Thames Board Mill were a large manufacturer of cardboards and linerboards for the packaging industry from when the time they were established in 1887 until their closure in 2003. The company underwent a major expansion at Purfleet in 1936 creating over 300 new jobs and eventually acquired by BPB Paperboard Ltd. BPB announded the closure of Thames Board Mills on the 17th September 2003 and had blosed just before the end of that same year. The works there were demolished some years later and the site is now a housing estate.
