Very rare and interesting piece of Irish Regimental history for sale.Mounted Blackbuck also known as an Indian Antelope signed by A.W Galwey 1 Royal Irish Rifles.Circa 1905.He can be traced on Royal Irish archives where a Lieutenant A.W Galwey is recorded.There is also documentation of a Capt A.W Gawley when he married Rosemary Smith ,Gran Daughter of Col Perry of Clydeville House Mallow.This information was sourced from the Cork Historical and Archaeological Society.The 1 Battalion of Royal Irish Rifles were deployed to India in 1897 where this buck would have been shot.Very interesting piece and very rare to be signed.Overall the mount is in good original condition with some wear consistent with age.
