Sword Bayonet 1870
Bayonet. French October 1870. Bayonet and scabbard in excellent condition for the age. Model 1866 Chassepot rifle bayonet. No damage to blade, good clean edge. No dents to scabbard. No rust or pitting to blade. Mounting spring clip work's freely. Nice clear script to back of blade. St.Etienne Armoury dated October 1870. Would have seen service in the 1870/71 Franco Prussian war.
