Souvenir of the Eucharistic Congress, Dublin 1932
The Eucharistic Congress is a major international gathering of the Catholic Church, focused on devotion to the Eucharist. The 31st International Eucharistic Congress was held in Dublin from 21–26 June 1932, and it was a massive event in Irish religious and social history, attracting hundreds of thousands of people from around the world.
The ornate border, with gilded and colorful medieval-inspired designs, reflects Catholic iconography — wheat and grapes (symbols of the Eucharist), the chalice and host (top left), and the dove (representing the Holy Spirit, bottom right).
The central photograph depicts a religious procession or ceremony, likely from the Congress itself, with altar servers, clergy, or choir members.
This framed souvenir would have been sold or given to attendees, meant as a keepsake of this monumental Catholic event in Ireland.
