SANG - a vintage French blood donor badge (c.1950's)

For sale is a beautifully made French blood donor badge. This is a quality-made badge and is die-stamped into a domed shape with enamelling!

The word SANG ('la sang' being French for blood) is displayed along with the letters SOS in each quadrant. The SOS may stand for the issuing authority but if anyone knows what the letters SOS stand for, please let me know.

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 21/32" diameter (17mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 1 vitreous enamel.
Finish: tin plated.
Fitting: buttonhole (crescent shaped clasp).
Imprint: A. LOUYS H.726 A B EDIT DEPOSÉ
Approximate age: 1940's to 1950's.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Some minor wear to the tin plating.
