For sale is a scarce member's badge issued by the ROYAL INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW (RIHS) at Hickstead and includes an added bar for the year 1978. These badges are scarce with an added bar and the more bars, the scarcer and rarer they become. These badges would have been worn to serve as a pass into the Hickstead events.

The RIHS is an annual six-day event that takes place at Hickstead in West Sussex and is Britain's biggest outdoor horse show that includes horse-jumping competitions (much like Ireland's annual RDS Horse Show). Membership to the RIHS Hickstead is by annual subscription and benefits include reduced ticket prices to their horse shows as well as polo, horse-racing and cricket events. Membership also includes access to the Member's Enclosure Grandstand and restaurant. Members also get two complimentary guest badges.

Size (without the bar): about 1 23/32" x 15/16" (44mm x 24mm).
