This is a replica of the intricately carved lid of the sarcophagus of the Mayan ruler King Pakal the Great. 
The original dates to around 683 AD and was discovered in the Temple of the Inscriptions at Palenque, Mexico. 
The carving depicts Pakal in a posture symbolizing his transition to divinity and the afterlife. 
It is a significant artifact offering insight into the complex religious beliefs and cosmology of the ancient Maya civilization. 
It a souvenir from "Hotel Riu Cancún".
