RARE Vintage Barnsby "Globe Rex" Aluminium Race Stirrups - Boxed Deadstock RARE Vintage Barnsby "Globe Rex" Aluminium Race Stirrups - Boxed Deadstock Other Antiques & Collectables

An exceptional, museum-grade piece of horse racing memorabilia! This is a beautiful, mid-20th-century time capsule featuring a complete pair of "Globe Rex" Aluminium Race Stirrups (Model No. 3287 AL, 4", 8 oz.). They were masterfully crafted in England by the world-famous J.A. Barnsby & Sons.Founded in Walsall in 1793, Barnsby was the oldest and most prestigious saddlery company in the world, holding Royal Warrants and outfitting the Household Cavalry before the historic factory closed permanently in 2014. Finding an intact set of their specialized racing irons like this is a true "one-in-a-million" find.Condition Details:The Packaging: Absolutely stunning vintage condition. Features the original paper outer envelope with gorgeous graphic branding, the historic "Saddlery for All Nations" logo, and the hand-inked pre-decimal price "37/6". Also includes the original crinkled internal brown paper wrappers. The Stirrups: This is unused "New Old Stock". They were safely tucked away inside the wrapping for decades. There is a small bit of natural vintage tarnishing/oxidation on the surface of the aluminum from storage, which I have left completely untouched to preserve the honest historical patina and the absolute integrity of the item.Perfect for high-end equestrian collectors, racing historians, or as a striking display piece for a traditional tack room.
