Rare Genesis Fine Arts (the Currach) By Steve Finney (large Show-piece Of Approx. 100)

A genuinely unusual and scarce Genesis Fine Arts sculpture depicting three fishermen in a traditional Irish currach, sculpted by Steve Finney.

This is not the standard small Genesis Currach currently found in gift shops and online. It is the much larger show-piece version, measuring an impressive:

87 cm long × 26.5 cm wide × 28 cm high

This makes it a very short production compared with Genesis’s regular Currach editions

The sculpture has exceptional presence at nearly 90 cm in length, with considerably more detail and impact than the familiar small Genesis Currach.

PRESENTATION

The sculpture is currently mounted on a substantial custom rectangular slate base, which complements the maritime character of the piece beautifully.

Important: Genesis Fine Arts has confirmed that the slate base was not supplied by Genesis and was subsequently made for the sculpture.

CONDITION

Good overall condition commensurate with age. Please study the photographs carefully as they form part of the description.

PROVENANCE / AUTHENTICATION

This is an unusually well-documented Genesis piece. Rather than relying solely on the signature, catalogue or seller attribution, I contacted Genesis Fine Arts directly.

Tony Collins of Genesis Fine Arts has confirmed its manufacture, the Steve Finney attribution and the approximate production of 100 pieces.

This is therefore an opportunity to acquire a rare, large-scale Genesis Fine Arts Currach with direct manufacturer confirmation.
