For sale is a remarkable, matching set of six (6) authentic Victorian wrought iron structural tie rods/strut braces. These pieces were carefully salvaged during the recent architectural redevelopment of the historic Malt House on Grand Canal Quay, Dublin 2.

Built in 1859 by the Guinness family, The Malt House is a landmark of Dublin’s industrial dockland heritage. These heavy-duty rods formed part of the building's original, high-clearance upper roof truss system, designed over 160 years ago to support the massive structure.

The Set Includes:

2 x Long Tie Rods

4 x Short Strut Braces

Features & Condition:

Authentic Engineering: Features beautifully forged clevis (forked) ends and flattened eyelet connectors meant for heavy cotter pins or bolts.

Stunning Patina: They possess a gorgeous, genuine industrial patina with historic surface texturing and pitting. They have deliberately been left uncleaned/unpolished to preserve their raw architectural character.

High Structural Integrity: Exceptionally heavy, solid 19th-century wrought iron.

Ideal For:
This matching set is an absolute dream for high-end furniture designers, custom fabricators, or commercial interior fit-outs (trendy pubs, microbreweries, dockland offices). The long rods are perfectly scaled to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind base for a massive reclaimed timber dining table or boardroom table, while the four shorter rods are ideal for matching structural legs, industrial shelving frameworks, or architectural features.
