For sale is a kangaroo or 1st Degree medal awarded by the ROYAL ANTEDILUVIAN ORDER of BUFFALOES (RAOB).

There were four levels of membership to the RAOB and the 1st Degree level was ordinary membership, signified an image of a kangaroo. The four levels of RAOB membership from lowest to highest were:

1st Degree (Kangaroo - ordinary membership).
2nd Degree (Certified Primo - head of a lodge).
3rd Degree (Knight Order of Merit, KOM).
4th Degree (Roll of Honor, RoH).

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 1 9/16" width (39mm). Overall length including both sections is about 4 1/4" (108mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 2 vitreous enamels & woven cloth ribbon.
Finish: gilt.
Fitting: suspension ring, ribbon & a long pin.
Imprint: HENRY SLINGSBY LTD
Approximate age: 1920's or earlier.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Pin in working order. Gilt plating worn with age and use.
