For sale are nine good quality enamel badges displaying railway company crests or logos. Such badges were originally sold to visitors at their respective railway preservation societies and rail yards. The small Royal Scot 6100 locomotive badge dates from the 1930's and was orginally sold from British Railways stations in aid of their Railway Orphanage homes. The NYMR badge dates to the early 1980's and the remaining seven date to the 1970's.

DESCRIPTION:
Size (Welshpool & Llanfair badge): about 15/16" diameter (24mm).
Material(s): the NYMR badge of a diecast metal alloy & all the other eight badges of brass metal with vitreous enamels.
Finish: gilt or tin-plated.
Fitting: pin.
Imprint: only the Royal Scot 6100 badge carries an imprint: MILLER 118 BRANSTON ST. B'HAM regd appd 788898 (1933/34). All remaining eight badges have no imprint.
Approximate age: 1930's to early 1980's.
CONDITION:
Excellent condition. No damage. Pins in working order. Some marks in the black enamel of the Royal Scot 6100 badge but only noticeable under magnification & at a certain angle to the light.
