Pitcairn Islands Victorian Carved Hardwood Vase
This is a fabulous and authentic hand carved hardwood (probably rosewood) spill vase..that incorporates an outer hand.This style of carving has been synonymous with the Pitcairn Islands(where 9 survivors from the Bounty were dropped off) for many generations. The Islands now host around 50 permanent residents..all thought to be decendants of the crew.The piece is 7.5 inches tall and 2.5 at the lip.It has one micro fine hairline on the lip from heat expansion..You won't find another authentic one of these at this price point.
