Original 1953 Mid-Century Italian Oil Painting

For sale is an original mid-20th-century oil painting on wood panel, depicting traditional Italian fishing boats in the harbor of Pozzuoli (Naples).

This is a unique, hand-painted work of art with excellent historical markings on the reverse.

Artist: Signed "M. De Domenico" in the bottom left corner.

Medium: Original oil painting on solid wood panel.

Origin / Date: Painted in Pozzuoli, Italy, dated 1953.

Inscription on Reverse: Features a handwritten Italian dedication from the artist to a colleague: "Omaggio al caro collega Prof. Gennaro Autore - M. De Domenico -1953 Pozzuoli".

Frame: Housed in its original vintage dual-layered frame with an inner ornate gold gesso border and a dark red/brown lacquered outer wood frame.

Condition Report (Please Read Carefully):
Painting: The oil painting itself is in great condition with beautiful, thick textured brushstrokes and no paint loss.

Frame Condition: The inner gold frame is intact.
The outer dark lacquered frame shows noticeable age-related wear, including prominent chips and gouges along the edges that expose the bare wood underneath (see photos).
The back structure is held together with original metal brackets and is missing a paper backing, which is common for panels of this era.
