For sale is a diploma award badge issued by the NATIONAL NURSERY EXAMINATION BOARD (NNEB) for successfully passing their childcare examinations. This badge includes the graduate's registration number (6699) and would originally have accompanied the NNEB certificate.

The NNEB was established in 1945, organised two-year training courses and awarded a widely recognised qualification in childcare. The original recipient of this badge would have been qualified to provide childcare for children from birth up to 7 years of age. In 1994, the NNEB was merged with the Council for Early Years Awards to form the Council for Awards in Care, Health and Education (CACHE).

DESCRIPTION:
Size: about 3/4" x 1" (22mm x 26mm).
Material(s): brass metal with 1 vitreous enamel.
Finish: nickel plated?
Fitting: pin.
Imprint: J. R. GAUNT LONDON. Also, recipient's registration number (6699) hand-stamped into the reverse side of this badge.
Approximate age: 1950's.

CONDITION:
Very good condition. No damage. Pin in working order. Some minor wear to plating on the high-relief areas on the front side.
