For sale is a small prize badge issued by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS OF DANCING (NATD) and would have originally accompanied a certificate for proficiency in dancing. This' prize badge would have been awarded for a specific genre of dance and may have related to ballroom or waltz dancing.
The NADT was established in 1906 as a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of dance and the provision of services to it’s members. They also maintain high standards amongst it’s membership through proficiency ‘test medal’ examinations and competitions. The NADT have affiliated schools all over the UK and as at 2006, membership was over 2,000.

Approximate age: mid-1950's to mid-1960's.
