For sale is a merchandise badge depicting the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) steam locomotive ROYAL SCOT numbered 6100 (British Railways 46100). The Royal Scot was built in 1927 by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow and entered service with the LMS in that same year. The Royal Scot remained in service with British Railways until 1962 and is currently owned by the Royal Scot Locomotive & General Trust (RSL>), on display at Crewe. Billy Butlin purchased the Royal Scot from British Railways after it was withdrawn, gave the locomotive some cosmetic restoration and put the Royal Scot on static display at his Butlins holiday camp at Skegness. The Royal Scot remained at Skegness until 1971 and restored to steam by the RSL>.
This badge depicts the Royal Scot locomotive in a "crimson" red livery.
