For sale is 100th anniversary commemorative badge issued by the Lietuvos Šachmatų Federacija (Lithuanian Chess Federation). This may relate to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the first chess player’s circle at Vilnius in 1887.

The Lietuvos Šachmatų Federacija (LSF - Lithuanian Chess Federation) was established in 1930 and is the country’s regulating body for chess as a sport. The LSF became a member of the World Chess Federation (FIDE - Fédération Internationale des Échecs) in that same year. In Lithuania, the game of chess is taken very seriously as a national sport and most school-children are taught chess from an early age.
